Secure Sign-in FAQs

Keeping your Evie app account secure is the highest priority for us at Evie. Because of this, when you sign up for an Evie app account we will ask you to validate both your email address and your phone number.

We've made it as easy as possible to get you set up in the Evie app and feel confident that your important data like payment methods and charging history are protected.

You might still have some questions though, so here's a few common ones that might occur to you.

How do I get started?

If you don't already have it, you can download the Evie App here:

Then just follow the prompts to set up your account. If you're a new customer you will be asked to verify your email address and phone number along with a few details about yourself.

What does "verifying" my email mean?

When you sign up to the Evie app the first step will be to verify your email address.

Email verification means proving that you actually own and can access the email address you provided by clicking a special link sent to that inbox. It's like getting a postcard at your home address to confirm you really live there.

Evie will send you an email with a unique one-time secure link that only works when clicked, which proves the email account is yours and that you can receive messages there.

If possible you should tap on this link from the same device which you installed the Evie app on. This way we will know its you, and sign you straight in to the Evie app.

Do I need a password?

No! While you can use a password, using a one-time secure link is a faster and more secure way to sign in to the Evie App and so we encourage you to use this method.

When you go to sign in to the Evie app we will send you a one-time secure link to your verified email address. All you need to do is tap on it, and the app will open knowing that its you. So easy! And no passwords to remember.

A one-time secure link is actually more secure than a password because it eliminates the risk of weak or stolen passwords and it automatically expires within minutes, making it much harder for hackers to misuse.

The one down-side is that you need to have access to your emails on that same device which you have installed the Evie app.

What if I don't have email on my phone?

If you don't have email on the same device that you installed the Evie app, you will still need to verify your email address.

You can do this when you next check your email, even from a desktop computer. You will have to set a password at this time because you will not be able to sign in to the Evie app via the one-time secure link if you don't have access to your emails on your same device as the Evie app.

You might also consider signing up with an Apple or Google ID as it will bypass this step for you.

What if I am not getting the email from Evie?

We need to verify your email address before we can continue signup. If you're not receiving the email from Evie during signup to the Evie app first, check your email spam folder and network filters. These settings may be blocking emails from noreply@goevie.com.au

You can read more on what do if you're not receiving the email verification link.

If you aren't able to access your emails right now, that's ok, you can continue creating your account later when you get access to your email and tap on the one-time link.

You might also try signing up with an Apple or Google ID as it will bypass this step for you. You can do this by going back to the start screen.

What does "verifying" my phone number mean?

When you sign up to the Evie app you will also be asked to verify your mobile phone number.

Phone verification means proving that you actually own the phone that you have installed the Evie app on. During this step you will receive a text message from 'Evie Verify' with your unique verification code.

If you are overseas you will need to have roaming data enabled to receive this text.

Please note, if the phone you are using is associated with another account which has a failed payment suspension, you will not be able to verify. If this is the case, please make payment on your existing account and all app services will be returned to normal.
